Remove From Favorites I promise not to tell... Magnificent Bigleaf Maple, Acer macrophyllum, somewhere in the Quinault Rainforest, Olympic National Park, Washington state, U.S.A.. I was shown this tree as I promised not to reveal it's location ( for fear of it being hurt/ruined by tourists ). Shot under difficult light (strong backlighting), but the Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8 zoom was superb at controlling purple fringe.
